Associate Professor Radosław Miśkiewicz

Radosław Miśkiewicz is a Professor at the University of Szczecin. He professionally combines business and research activities, hence his scientific interests pertain to: the process of formation of metallurgical enterprises’ organisational structures along with their vulnerability to merger; knowledge transfer to industrial enterprises and its management in the view of building enterprises’ competitiveness; potential for integration of metallurgical enterprises in terms of transfer of innovative technologies arising from Industry 4.0 Logistics 4.0. He acts as head or chair of steering committees (an expert) on numerous projects implemented by production enterprises, and in terms of international cooperation, as consultant/scientific patron or expert, he implements, individually or in networks or scientific consortia, 3 research grants, including: „Enhanced exploration” EIT Raw Materials KAVA, „Sustainable mineral resources by utilizing new Exploration technologies (Smart Exploration)” HORIZON 2020, „Inclusion of the ESEE region and Ukraine in innovative exploration developments (IncluESEE)” EIT RAW MATERIALS KAVA.

He has received numerous awards, including: Team Award IIº of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology in 2018 for the research paper “Organisational structure in the process of integration on the example of iron and steel industry enterprises in Poland” Warszawa Difin 2017; and in 2017 twice-awarded by the Scientific Council of Poltava University of Economics and Trade for the paper „Organisational Structure In The Process Of Integration On The Example Of Iron And Steel Industry Enterprises In Poland” and by the Scientific Council of Institute of Industrial Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for “Knowledge transfer in merger and acquisition processes in the metallurgical industry. In 2018 he won a special award of Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN (Polish Scientific Publisher) for “Gospodarka współdzielenia. Wybrane problemy.” (“Sharing economy. Selected problems.”). In 2019 he was honoured by the Minister of Science and Higher Education with an individual award for the paper “Organisational structure in the process of integration on the example of iron and steel industry enterprises in Poland: process digitisation in the Industry 4.0 concept.”

Radoslaw Miskiewicz, President of the Board of Directors of Luma Holding and the founder of the Luma Metallurgical Industry Fund. Manager with long-term experience in managing large companies, where he successfully implemented projects regarding, i.a., assets management, company financing, international transactions, mergers, and acquisitions. Supporter of unconventional solutions in management and a sustainable use of natural resources. One of the most essential examples of this activity is a project of a system producing electricity without carbon dioxide emissions – he invited industry specialists and scientists to participate in this project. His work was awarded with many honours including the prestigious certificate of „Environmentally Friendly Company” granted in a competition under the patronage of the President of Poland.

Associate Professor Wojciech Drożdż

Professor at the University of Szczecin, chairman of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Management at the University of Szczecin.

He is the author and co-author of over 150 scientific publications in the field of energy management, energy security, logistics, transport economics (including electromobility), and numerous strategic documents for economic entities from the energy and TSL sectors. In 2014, he received a special award from the Minister of Economy for the best habilitation thesis in the field of energy.

In 2021, he received the West Pomeranian Nobel Prize for outstanding achievements in economic sciences, and in 2022 he became the Scientist of the Year of the University of Szczecin.

In the years 2010-2014, he was the deputy marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, being responsible for infrastructure and regional transport, energy, culture and national heritage.

From 2015 to 2022 he was associated with the Enea Capital Group, performing advisory and then management functions in Enea Operator Sp. z o. o. He was the manager of 5 research and development projects in the area of innovation in the energy sector, co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
He is the originator of a unique field of study on a national scale - Management of renewable energy sources.

He is a member of the Association for Energy Economy of Poland (PAEE) and the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).

Dr. Daniel Kammen

Daniel Kammen is the James and Katherine Lau Distinguished Professor of Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley, with parallel appointments in the Energy and Resources Group, the Goldman School of Public Policy, and the department of Nuclear Engineering. His work is focused on decarbonization, energy access, and climate justice. He has served as Senior Advisor for Energy and Innovation at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Kammen is a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC. He is the Co-Chair of the UC Berkeley Roundtable on Climate and Environmental Justice (http://ceej.berkeley.edu)

Kammen was appointed the first Environment and Climate Partnership for the Americas (ECPA) Fellow by Secretary of State Hilary R. Clinton in April 2010 and served as Science Envoy for Secretary of State John Kerry (2016- 2017).

His research is focused on the science and policy of decarbonized energy systems, energy access, and environmental justice. He has published more than 450 papers, which are available on his laboratory website, the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL, http://rael.berkeley.edu). His research is currently focused on: decarbonization of power systems around the world; energy access and social justice; materials science for low-carbon economies; big-data approaches to clean transportation, and on the electrification of health facilities across Africa (HETA).

Kammen has founded or is on the board of over 10 companies, and has served the State of California and US federal government in expert and advisory capacities. Kammen was the First Chief Technical Specialist for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the World Bank (2010 – 2011).

Kammen was educated in physics at Cornell and Harvard, and held postdoctoral positions at the California Institute of Technology and Harvard. Before moving to the University of California, Berkeley, he was Assistant Professor and Chair of the Science, Technology and Environmental Policy Program at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.

Dr. Kammen has served as a contributing or coordinating lead author on various reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 1999. The IPCC shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Kammen serves on the Advisory Committee for Energy & Environment for the X-Prize Foundation. He is on the board of Native Renewables (Flagstaff, AZ); The Mpala Research Center (Nanyuki, Kenya), the Chabot Space and Science Center (Oakland, CA), The Human Needs Project/Kibera Town Center (Nairobi, Kenya).

Kammen was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2020.

She is also co-editing a book for Springer Nature for release in 2025: Leadership in the Just Transition: the role of remedy in responsible minerals value chains.

He managed the work of teams carrying out research and development work in projects with a total budget exceeding PLN 60 million. The implemented projects were of a research and implementation nature, e.g. as part of the Power Sector Research Program (PBSE) of the National Center for Research and Development entitled: "Innovative energy storage system services increasing the quality and efficiency of electricity use (EnergyStore)". The project was awarded the Innowatory "Wprost" 2021 award. For fruitful cooperation, he was honored with the "Merit for the ENEA Capital Group" badge. This was the first case in which the awarded person was not an ENEA employee. As part of another project obtained from NCBR Fast Track entitled:: "Development of industrial bistable relays and industrial technology of their production" implemented with the Lubusz company Relpol (6% of the market), a prototype of a bistable relay characterized by a drastic reduction in energy consumption was developed and implemented. In addition, a concept for the currently built prototype robotic line for the production of relays was developed. The line capacity assumed in the project is approximately 15 relays per minute and approximately 5 million relays per year.

In 2023, he received the Award of the Minister of Education and Science for "Significant achievements in the field of scientific activity".

He has led two Horizon 2020 Excellent Science MSCA projects. European Commission expert evaluating proposals under Horizon Europe. Expert of the advisory team of the President of the Central Office of Measures. Member of the expert group supporting Poland's participation in the European partnership of the Horizon Europe program "EIT InnoEnergy-KIC". Member of the NCBiR Electromobility Team, participating in the preparation of substantive assumptions of the "Zero-Emission Public Transport" program. Chairman of the working team on "development of modular nuclear energy as support for the green energy transformation" in the Lubusz Voivodeship.

Michał Przepiera

Michał Przepiera was born on April 27, 1974. In the early years of his professional career he worked, among others, in law firms, consulting companies and commercial enterprises.

Since April 2002, he has been working at the Szczecin City Hall as a specialist in the Department of Municipal Management and Environmental Protection. From July 2003 to November 2004, Head of the Department of Ownership Supervision over Municipal Management at WGKiOŚ. From November 2004 to March 2012, Director of the Department of Municipal Management and Environmental Protection (WGKiOŚ), and from April 2012, Director of the Strategy Office. In May 2014, he was appointed Deputy Mayor of Szczecin, a position he holds to this day.

Associate Professor Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska

In 1997 she graduated law at the University of Szczecin with a master's degree. Only 4 years later, on October 4, 2001, she obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Laws based on the thesis "Civil-procedural nature of separate proceedings in commercial matters". Associate Professor Adam Rudawski

Date of birth: March 21, 1966
In 1992, he completed master's studies in economics at the University of Szczecin. In 2004, he obtained a PhD in economics. Since 2018, he has been a professor at the University of Szczecin.

In the years 1992-1994 he was the director of marketing and economics of the Komfort chain of stores. Until 2006, he held the position of the director of economic marketing, and then VP of the management board of Polskie Radio Szczecin. He was the founder of the University of Management in Szczecin, and from 2006 to 2011 he was the rector of this university. For the next 5 years he was the CEO of Polish Radio Szczecin. In 2018, he took up the position of professor at the University of Szczecin.

She manages and coordinates the Luma Holding Group’s global projects in Central and South-East Europe and East Africa. Within Luma, Aleksandra has developed LuNa Smelter in Rwanda - the first tin metal smelter in Africa fully conformant against the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP).

She advocates for responsible production of critical raw materials and serves at the Governance Body and Outreach Group at the European Partnership for Responsible Minerals. In her scientific work, she focuses on sustainable development, responsible sourcing, and the usage of AI and blockchain technology for the management of critical minerals supply chains.

Director of the Łukasiewicz – Poznań Institute of Technology (formerly: the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing), professor of the University of Logistics. Waldemar Miśko

President of the Management Board of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Szczecin.

Since 1993, mayor of Karlino. He used his many years of experience in local government to chair the Convention of Village Heads, Mayors and Presidents of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, as well as the Association of Cities and Communes of the Parsęta River Basin. He served as the President of the SOS Children's Villages Association and the West Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization.

A graduate of construction at the Szczecin University of Technology and postgraduate studies in economy and finance in municipalities at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

Professor Alexander Balitskii PhD, DSc

Professor employed at the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Department of Vehicle Operation.

He works on the problems of hydrogen destruction of materials used in thermal and nuclear power. A number of achievements have found practical application and have been implemented in Ukraine, Russia and Italy, among others. These include: applications of new materials for rotor rings of high-power turbogenerators, protective coatings for materials in the power industry, assessment of fatigue resistance of materials in power plants, etc.

Arkadiusz Marchewka, PhD
